As one of only a few programs of its kind in the country, Hilbert's bachelor-level economic crime investigation program provides you with a firm foundation in fraud and computer crimes detection, investigation and prevention with a blend of courses in accounting, criminal justice and computer sciences. You'll receive specialized training in financial investigations, law of economic crime, accounting and information security. Beyond this, you'll become skilled in evidence gathering, analysis and preservation.
Depending on your interest and career goals, you may select either a financial investigation or computer security concentration, offering you flexibility in choosing a specialty to tackle emerging economic and cyber-crimes.

Economic Crime Investigation Lab
For the white-collar crime fighter of tomorrow, Hilbert's economic crime investigation lab will give you in-demand, hands-on training in the prevention and investigation of a multitude of accounting and computer crimes. It's among only a few computer crime and forensic training labs in the country for undergraduates.
Using real-world examples, like the latest stock-trading scandal or hacker, you'll have access to top-rated computer technology used in the field. The lab is equipped with high-tech data mining software and a forensics accounting program, among other sophisticated tools. Many federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies use the same software to track criminals.
What's more, you can examine a hard drive, trace money trails or learn about cyber-terrorism. You'll even have access to used computers so that you can disassemble them to get a better understanding of their inner workings. All this training will give you the skills employers need to go up against financial and computer criminals.
Equipped with our down dedicated server, the lab has computer workstations specifically for economic crime investigation students. Along with the software, forensics lab computers have roaming user profiles. This allows you to log-on to any computer in the lab while preserving your user profile settings.
