The Hilbert Office of Multicultural Affairs works with all sectors of the college to enhance racial and cultural diversity and to create a campus environment that fosters both academic excellence and appreciation of diversity. Through the multicultural affairs office, a focused, proactive college-wide effort is provided by: - Assisting in the recruitment, retention and completion rates of non-majority students.
- Offering diversity programming and activities that augment classroom learning and have cultural relevancy.
- Supporting student organizations and leadership development for non-majority students.
- Helping to link external constituency and support groups.
- Working with various college constituencies to enhance diversity.
Multicultural affairs is committed to building an environment that values and respects every person, regardless of gender, age, race, sexual preference, cultural background, religion, nationality, or beliefs. The office also promotes academic progress and success by engaging students through multicultural acknowledgements that celebrate the individual and collective experiences, and contributions of all students and employees. The college’s multicultural affairs office works to promote and encourage awareness of diversity throughout the community by offering a wide range of programs, services and activities. We affirm diverse identities and strongly encourage students to involve themselves in all facets of the college community, respecting differences.
