About the Political Science Program

Hilbert's political science major, which is within the law and government department, explores how societies make decisions and how individuals both contribute to those decisions and must live according to the rules of society. Since governments are the institutions that make such decisions, political science majors study their many aspects, including their origins and preconditions, growth and evolution, and problems and decline.

As you discover your unique interests and talents, Hilbert's faculty advisors will work with you to identify a rewarding career. You will be able to pursue a variety of careers in politics, government, law, education, planning, teaching and research at the university level, foreign service and business.
