HAMBURG, NY – Senior baseball player Matt Schoepflin (Chaffee, NY/Holland) has been named the Hilbert College Student-Athlete of the Month for April, 2008. Schoepflin has started all 20 of the Hawks games this month and currently leads the team in six offensive categories. The pitcher/infielder has produced 22 hits in 64 at bats and has a team best .344 batting average. Schoepflin has scored 16 runs, while producing eight doubles, three homeruns, three stolen bases, and 17 RBIs. As a pitcher, the right-hander made six appearances and has thrown 11 strikeouts. For the month he has 43 putouts and 37 assists to go with just three errors. Schoepflin is a Criminal Justice major and carries and 2.59 GPA.
