Job Summary: The lab supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the Center for Creative Media (CCM) at Hilbert College. This individual will support department equipment, assist students and department faculty in the lab, in the classroom, and off-campus. He/she will oversee work-study students, and assist in other supportive work to the Digital Media and Communication department. This is a 12-month staff position. Responsibilities include perform weekly maintenance in the lab (simple cleanup and organizing as well as battery charging and checking equipment to see if repairs are needed); document equipment problems and damage, evaluate what repairs are needed and the costs of repair, consult with Director about these repairs and either repair equipment or package and send out equipment for repair. Help instructors resolve hardware or software problems encountered in a timely manner; sign out and distribute production equipment and supplies when appropriate; work with campus maintenance to make improvements in the lab spaces; also look to make recommendations for improvements as well as identify safety issues in the lab. Ability to teach film and/or journalism summer camps to children (12 – 18yrs); assist the Director in engagement of students and prospective students, advancing our initiatives and engaging our audience on and off campus.
Requirements/Qualifications: Must have expertise in at least some media production applications, which may include some or all of the following: Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and applications such as Cinema 4D and Autodesk Maya. Must have a firm grounding with both Mac OS X and Windows in a network environment. Excellent communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision. A schedule will be assigned, however must be flexible to work other hours as needed. Bachelor's degree in media arts, journalism, communication or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
