A member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, Pristach can discuss workplace ergonomics, human characteristics that are relevant to job design, human/machine interfaces, and risk factors. He also focuses on learning psychology and memory as it applies to animal learning, artificial intelligence, development, behavior, modification, and training. In the area of cognitive psychology, Pristach can provide insight into processes like attention, recognition, language, and problem solving. He also oversees student-research projects in Hilbert’s undergraduate psychology lab. Pristach has had numerous published works on alcoholism in the Journal of Substance Abuse, Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research and Alcohol & Alcoholism. He also developed a national health database on nurse practitioners.
