BROCKPORT, NY – Hilbert College went 1-2 in a four-team Brockport Tournament, as they return to Hamburg with a 12-5 overall record in women’s volleyball. The Hawks opened the tourney with a 3-0 loss to the hosts September 28. They returned to action the next morning with a 3-0 victory over Alfred before they dropped their Potsdam contest 3-0. Chelsea Reischuck and Allegra Johnson took home All Tourney honors September 29.
Reischuck’s 13 digs, Johnson’s 10 kills and Shannon Memminger’s two service aces led the offense for Hilbert in their 25-20, 25-17, 26-24, three set loss to Brockport.
The next morning, Reischuck was again the dig leader with 17 to pair with her 10 kills. Memminger worked the service area earning four more aces along with 26 assists and Rachel Kwiatkowski blocked two attempts. The Hawks beat Alfred for the third time this season 25-14, 25-21, 26-24.
In their final match, Hilbert lost to their third SUNY school this season, surrendering to Potsdam 25-23, 25-21, 25-18. Devan Jonathan secured four service aces, Jordan Botsford was credited with two blocks along with Johnson’s nine kills, Reischuck’s nine digs and Memminger’s 25 assists.
Hilbert returns to the Hafner Center October 2 when they restart AMCC play against Penn State Behrend at 7pm.
