Hilbert Opens Day 1 of Tournament with a Victory

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Hilbert women’s softball team opened up their season on Sunday, March 14, in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Fast Pitch Dreams tournament. Opening day saw the Hawks excited and ready for action as they came up victorious in a back and forth battle defeating UMass-Dartmouth 4-3. Second baseman Jill Martucci (Hamburg, NY/ Hamburg) had the game winning hit in the bottom of the 7th inning on a drag bunt which allowed senior Carrie Sisson (Elma, NY/ Mt. Mercy) to cross home plate and secure the victory.
