Bradford, PA – The Hilbert College men’s soccer team was coming off an exciting 2-2 OT tie over the weekend and looked forward to their next contest before they traveled to Pitt-Bradford on October 6. The home team pulled the rug out from under the Hawks in their 5-0 defeat on a rain soaked afternoon in Bradford.  The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss drops Hilbert to 0-3 and 0-10-1 overall. Bradford improves 3-1 in the league and 5-4-1 overall.

Bradford took a 3-0 lead with quick back-to-back goals scored 87-seconds apart just before half time. Following intermission, the Panthers scored their fourth goal within the first two minutes of the second half crushing any hopes of a comeback by the Hawks. Hilbert’s junior goal keeper, Kamil Cislak (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), made 9 saves out of the 14 shots he faced during the match while sophomore forward Ed Sarcione (Eden, NY/Eden) lead the Hawks in shots (3).
Hilbert will be back in action on Saturday, October 9th when they make a day trip to Mount Aloysius College for a 3 pm kick. They return to WNY for a 6:00 pm Columbus Day match against D’Youville College at Buffalo’s Riverside high school.
