Cocoa Beach, FL – Manhattanville scored 6 runs by the end of the third inning to ride their way to a 7-2 victory over Hilbert College in the morning game played at Cocoa Beach March 15th.
Ryan LaCorte (Cheektowaga, NY/JFK) singled once, walked twice and scored one of the two runs while playing a solid game at short stop. Jim Pernick (Tonawanda, NY/St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute) doubled and walked, and Matt Militello (Depew, NY/Lancaster) had two hits in the loss. Chris Hoak (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) took the loss having thrown the first three innings, giving up six earned runs. Frank Casey (Buffalo, NY/Leonardo daVinici) came in and threw four scoreless innings in relief.
The Hawks (0-4) travel to Ft. Pierce, 80 miles south for a 2pm game against Westminster College, 3-0 during spring break.
