HAMBURG, NY - A goal scored right at the beginning of the second half by Hilbert's Kayla Norman was just what the hosts needed. That score put the Hawk's ahead against Wells College, and they never looked back winning their home-opener (1-0) September 7. Robbi Bailey was credited with the assist to Norman's score, her first score of the season.
Other than a few injury delays, both teams attacked on offense, keeping the goalies on their toes. Hilbert held a 14-10 shot advantage. Hilbert's keeper, Mary Zinni, tallied four saves but broke up several strong crossing passes by Wells. This was an all-around team effort for the Hawks.
Hilbert (1-2) travels to Penn State Beaver this Sunday, September 11 (12pm) before they return home September 13 to host Alfred University.
