Botsford Leads Hawks In Tri-match at Grove City

GROVE CITY, PA – The Hilbert College women’s volleyball team dropped two non-conference games October 15 at a tri-match hosted by Grove City College. The Hawks lost 3-0 to Thomas More University and 3-0 to Grove City in the last game of the afternoon.    Hilbert (5-13, 1-4) completed their non-conference portion of the 2011 schedule and now can focus on the AMCC league games which remain.

Thomas More finished the three-set match hitting .296 in their 25-6, 25-16, 25-19 set scores. Hilbert’s Jordan Botsford (9 digs) and Chelsea Reischuck each earned 5 kills. Shannon Memminger paced the offense with 15 assists.

In the afternoon match, Grove City’s offensive success came down to their hitting percentage (.233) since both teams had the same number of attacks. Botsford led in both kills (7) and digs (13). Reischuck contributed 6 kills (9 digs) along with Rachel Kwiatkowski, 8 kills. Devan Jonathan led the Hawks with 4 services aces and Memminger again directed for 24 assists in the 25-16, 25-17, 25-22 games.

The Hawks return to Hamburg for a Tuesday, October 18 game against Pitt-Bradford with a 7 pm start.
