HAMBURG, NYPenn State Behrend (14-3, 10-2) jumped out to a 14-4 lead and raced past Hilbert (3-15, 2-9), 78-43 on January 25 at the Hafner Recreation Center. This is the second time the AMCC opponents faced each other this season.
After what was a close couple of minutes with almost even play between the teams, the Lions made it rain from three-point land, shooting 50% in the first half.  Penn State Behrend held a 44-17 advantage at halftime. Hilbert shot just 26% from the floor in the first half.
Sophomore Natalie Whitman led the Hawks, and all scorers, with 14 points, followed closely by some solid play from freshman Sarah Lorusso {in photo to right}, who contributed nine points for the game.
For the Lions, four players reached double-digits in scoring, with Brittany Wilwohl having 12 points. Holly Bourquin and Julia Myers each tallied 11 points, and Brianna Bayly chipped in with 10.
Hilbert continues their AMCC play with a road game Saturday, January 28 to Pitt-Greensburg at 4pm.
