PITTSBURGH, PA – Senior Matt Militello (Depew, NY/Lancaster) has been named as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s baseball Player of the Week April 23. Militello finished the week going 7 for 12 (.583) scoring seven and knocking in two runs as the Hawks went 1-3 in two double headers. Militello further displayed his batting prowess by hitting the cycle for the week, recording 3 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run while striking out just twice.

‘Mili’ moved down in the batting order and found his grove right out of the gate. He opened against Medaille with a first-pitch homerun as the Hawks went on to split with the Mavericks April 17. Then, three days later, Militello’s .714 hitting led the Hawks against Greensburg. The centerfielder finished with five hits and scored five runs in the team’s 7-4 and 18-8 defeat.

Currently, Militello holds onto the top slot with 151 career hits for Hilbert.
