Hilbert Baseball Team Wins Two

Hamburg, N.Y. – Hilbert College swept a home doubleheader against Keuka College Tuesday, winning 2-0 and 5-3 in NCAA Division III action.
Matthew Markott (Lakeshore/Angola, NY) and Sam Gioia (W. Seneca West/West Seneca, NY) scored in the bottom of the fifth inning to lead the Hawks to victory in game one. Brendan Mullen (Oakfield-Alabama/Oakfield, NY) picked up the win on the mound, while Gioia earned the save.
In game two, Gioia had two hits and scored two runs to lead Hilbert. Markott, Mullen, and Joe Ferrara each scored a run to aid the Hawks cause. Dustin Riker (Frontier/Blasdell, NY) pitched four innings to earn the win, while Glen Ufland (Bishop Timon/Buffalo, NY) received credit for the save.
