The Hilbert College Baseball team fell to RIT by a score of 15-5 on April 2, 2009. The loss drops the Hawk’s record to 3-13 on the season.
RIT jumped out to a 7-0 lead through three innings. The Hawks made a charge in the top of the fourth inning as the Tigers walked Colby Miller (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) as junior Keith Somerville (West Falls. NY/Holland) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, plating a run. Freshman Patrick Lagueras (Rochester, NY/C.G. Finney) the singled, which scored Colby Miller and Matt Begeal (Northville, NY/Wells).
The Hawks would manage to score just 1 more run, in the top of the seventh as freshman Paul Coleman (Buffalo, NY/Cardinal O’Hara) singled and Frank Simmeth (Cheektowaga, NY/St. Mary’s) scored.
Sophomore Ryan LaCorte (Cheektowaga, NY/JFK) took the loss for Hilbert on the mound.
The Hawks return to action April 5 at AMCC foe La Roche College.
