Hawks Blow Past Spartans

The Hilbert College baseball team took two games from local rival D’Youville College by scores of 7-3 and 13-6. The wins improve the Hawk’s record to 5-21 overall.
In game 1, senior Brandon Brown (Lyondonville, NY/LA Webber) was 2-3 with 3 RBI and a home run. Brown also earned the victory on the mound with a complete game effort, allowing just three runs on eight hits.
Sophomore Ryan LaCorte (Cheektowaga, NY/JFK) was also sharp from the plate for the Hawks, going 2-4 with an RBI.
In game 2, Brown stayed hot from the plate. Brown capped his day off with a 3-4 effort, going yard two more times and driving in four more runs. Junior Dave Cunningham (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) was 2-2 in the second stanza with two RBIs.
Junior Matt Begal (Northville, NY/Wells) earned the victory in game 2 for the Hawks.
The Hawks return to action April 18, at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
