Hilbert Cager Named NEAC Player of the Week

HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College’s Sam Gioia (W. Seneca West/West Seneca, NY) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 30.
The junior point guard scored 20 of his game high 25 points in the first half in Tuesday’s 70-58 win over Alfred University. The 5’9 Gioia was 8-12 from the field including 5-6 from behind the arc and 4-6 from the foul line. He also dished out six assists and grabbed three rebounds and had two steals while playing 39 minutes for the Hawks (1-2).
Hilbert travels to Nazareth College tonight for an 8 p.m. contest against the Golden Flyers (2-2).
