HC cager Edwards named AMCC POTW

GIBSONIA, PA – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) office has announced Malcolm Edwards (Cleveland Heights, OH/Lutheran East) as the men’s basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending December 16th. The junior forward from Hilbert College led the Hawks to a 1-1 showing this past weekend at the Harold J. Brodie Tournament hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology.

On Friday night, Edwards posted 20 points to go with 12 rebounds in a 79-74 loss to SUNYAC power Oswego State. In Saturday’s consolation game, the 6’7 junior college transfer poured in 20 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and blocked four shots in the Hawks 87-77 win over D’Youville College. Edwards was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 20.0 ppg, 14.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, and 2.5 bpg, while shooting 67.7% (19-28) from the field.

The Hawks (4-5) are off until a return showdown with D’Youville College on January 2nd.
