The Hilbert College golf team participated in the Medaille College Fall Invitational, on Saturday afternoon. The local field consisted of Medaille, Hilbert, Daemen and D’Youville.
Hilbert placed 3rd out of four teams. For the Hawks, the top finisher was junior Brian Rathke (Buffalo, NY/Timon), who after a rough start birdied 5 of the last 17 holes to end up with a nine-over-par 80. Rathke’s round placed him seventh overall. Junior Joe Roberts (Adams, NY/South Jefferson) finished with an eleven-over-par 82, to place 8th. Freshman Garret Gelia (East Amherst, NY/Cardinal O’Hara) shot a 90.
Juniors Ian Fost (Pine Valley, NY/Cherry Creek) and Justin Tworek (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk) both recorded rounds of 95.
The Hawks return to action Oct. 4-5 when they host the AMCC Championship at Tom’s Run Golf Course at Chestnut Ridge Golf Club in Blairsville, PA.
