Hamburg, NY – Hilbert College’s Edward Heffron has been named as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer with the week ending October 17, 2010. The Hawks went 2-1 during the week with both victories staged against AMCC opponents. The Williamsville, NY left full back performed well under pressure at a time in the season when his team needed a focused leader on defense. Heffron, a starter all year, helped to minimize AMCC opponent scoring opportunities against D’Youville College (3-1 victory) and a 2-0 shutout against La Roche.
