Wolfe Directs Hawks Against D'Youville

Buffalo, NY – D’Youville College swept the game series against Hilbert College in men’s volleyball February 24 (3-0) in 25-19, 25-15, 25-20 set scores . The Spartans were more effective hitters (80 attempts with 32 kills for .225 attack percentage) compared to the Hawks (.000) attack percentage (23 kills in 98 attempts).  The Spartan’s picked up the United Volleyball Conference win improving to 8-7, (4-0 UVC). Hilbert, still competing without Adam Weaver (Stow, OH/Archbishop Hoban), the UVC two-time Rookie of the Week, drop to 1-14, 0-5 UVC.

Splitting duties as Outside Hitter and Setter, Dan Wolfe (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) lead the Hawks with six kills (.500) and 13 assists. Fellow senior position-splitter RJ Sykora (Stow, OH/Stow Munroe Falls) passed for 10 assists and shared team-high digs (six) with sophomore Gary Gawera (Eden, NY/Eden).   

D’Youville’s Chris Temple had a match high nine kills on nine attempts. 

Hilbert hosts Thiel College February 26th at 1pm in the Hafner Center. The Tomcats bring a 4-14 (2-2 Midwest Conference) record to Western NY.
