HAMBURG, NY – Andrew Dvornski, Wanakah Country Club’s First Assistant Professional, has been named as the head golf coach at Hilbert College. Susan Viscomi, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, is excited about the direction the golf program will move with the hiring of a current golf professional. “Hilbert is fortunate to have hired someone like Andy with his teaching background and his management abilities,” said Viscomi.   “Our current student-athletes and future recruits will benefit from the experiences that Andy brings with him as he builds a strong competitive golf program.”

Dvornski has called Wanakah Country Club home for the last seven years, having worked his way up to first assistant golf professional in 2008. When not leading the golf program at Hilbert beginning this fall, the Blasdell native will continue his daily responsibilities at Wanakah. He manages all aspects of Tournament Operations, oversees and manages the Women’s Golf Program in addition to providing instruction to men, women and children of all ages and all levels of ability including junior golf. Prior to Wanakah, Dvornski served as a Junior Golf Instructor in the Hook-a-Kid on Golf program as well as Head Golf Coach in the Challenge Golf league at the Hamburg Golf Course in 2004.

Following his graduation from Frontier high school, Dvornski graduated from San Diego Academy of Golf (Chandler, AZ) in 2004 earning a Certificate of Completion in Teaching, Tournament Operations and Club Repair. That year, Dvornski earned Player’s Credentials which is awarded to the San Diego Academy of Golf’s elite golfers.

In 2009 he successfully passed the PGA Player Ability Test (PAT) with two consecutive rounds of 76. Dvornski is continually working towards PGA membership with his recent completion of Level 2 of the PGA/PGM program in May 2011. To stay sharp with his skills and teaching, he can be found participating in PGA Section Events.
