Men's AMCC Championship Women's AMCC Championship
EBENSBURG, PA – The Hilbertmen’s and women’s cross country teams closed out their 2012 seasons at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship meet October 27. Penn State Behrend’s men’s and women’s teams both captured their races with a 27 point tally followed by Franciscan and Altoona in that order in both divisions.
The weekend championships opened with the men’s division taking the 8K course at Ebensburg Country Club before the women ran their 6K race.
Hilbert’s Joshua Walczuk completed his race in 35:14, finishing in 38th place overall and leading the Hawks for the third time this fall. Others scoring for Hilbert were Kyle Kriegbaum (37:19), Rick Landahl (41:22), Andrew Cartaginese (43:34) and Tyler Roth (45:43). Akeem Todd and Steve Phillips ran the course as well, but their times did not count towards Hilbert’s 264 overall points, as the Hawks finished in 10th place.
Shannon Ellis finished in 24th place overall to lead the Hawks in scoring (28:15) for the fifth time in as many races. Miranda Reimondo (30:38), Kayla Lansberry (33:37), Kateland Ball (35:19) and Julie Rouleau (30:38) pieced together the 224 Hilbert team score. Also competing for Hilbert were the Smith sisters, Miranda and Stephanie. Hilbert finished 18 points ahead of La Roche College to claim the 9th place finish.
