Hamburg, NY – Autumn Lee-Jeffries (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) and Amanda McHale (Bradford, PA/Archbishop Walsh) combined for 21 points and 27 rebounds to lead the Hilbert College women’s basketball team to a 49-39 win over local rival, D’Youville College Tuesday night.

The host Hawks led 22-19 at the half and outscored the Spartans 27-20 in the second half despite both teams struggling from the field and the foul line.  D’Youville converted only five of 22 free throw attempts on the night while Hilbert made just enough, 11out of 29, to secure the win.

Nikki Curry (Ransomville, NY/Wilson) added 10 points for Hilbert (3-5), while DYC’s (4-5) Kate Modafferi led all scorers with 15 points on the night.

The Hawks return to action at Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Medaille College this Saturday at 4:00 PM.
