ROCHESTER, NY – Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) held on to a 25-20 halftime lead en route to a 56-47 win over Hilbert College in NCAA Division III women’s basketball action on Tuesday. The loss drops the Hawks to 1-3 overall, while RIT improved to 1-0.
The host Tigers forced 30 Hilbert turnovers and held the Hawks leading scorer Autumn Lee-Jeffries (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) in check, allowing only two points, including 0-1 from the field. R.I.T. was paced by Ramata Diallo’s 19 points and 12 rebounds while Christina Ermie chipped in with 15 for the winners.
The Hawks got 11 points and nine rebounds from sophomore forward Amanda McHale (Bradford, PA/Archbishop Walsh) in the losing effort. Senior guard Cheri White led Hilbert in scoring with 13 markers.
Hilbert College returns to action on Friday, December 2nd as the Hawks play host to La Roche College at 6:00 PM.
