Pitt-Greensburg Defeats Hilbert

The Hilbert College women’s basketball team was defeated by the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg on Wednesday evening (January 14, 2009) by a score of 82-26. With the setback, the Hawks fall to 0-13 on the campaign and 0-6 in AMCC play.
The Bobcats opened the contest with a 10-0 run over the game’s first 4:04. Freshman Julie Bossard (Arkport, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) got the Hawks on the board with an offensive rebound and put back. Bossard would also score the next Hawk basket on a jump shot off an assist from freshman Kaitlyn Wetzel (Ripon, WI/Ripon). The Hawks would go to the locker room trailing 34-9.
In the second half the Bobcats continued to handle the Hawks. Greensburg used a 42-8 run to seal the victory.
Bossard led the Hawks with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Hilbert returns to action January 14 at 1:00 pm, when the Hawks host Frostburg State.
