Steubenville, OH: Despite a strong team effort with six Hawks registering points on the scoreboard, Hilbert dropped a 47-34 decision to the Franciscan University Barons of Steubenville on Sunday, February 7. Freshman forward Katie Newton (Elba, NY/ Ebla) and sophomore forward Julie Bossard (Arkport, NY/ Canisteo-Greenwood) {pictured left} each tallied nine points in the defeat. This marks the 21st loss on the season for Hilbert.
The lead in the first half would be too much for the Hawks to come back from despite being outscored by only 2 points in second half action (23-21). The Barons would go on to clinch the 47-34 victory improving their AMCC record 3-13.
The Hawks will face D’Youville College on Wednesday, February 10, at 6 p.m. in the Hafner Recreation Center .
