PAINESVILLE, OH – The Hilbert College women’s cross country team finished eighth on Saturday at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Cross Country Championships. Penn State Behrend’s Jenny Baily was the first to cross the finish line, but Frostburg State placed four runners in the top ten to earn the 2006 team title.
The 5K race at Eleanor B. Garfield Park was a challenge for runners and administrators as poor weather conditions knocked-out the automated time system.
Hilbert’s Amanda Phillips (Buffalo, NY/Cleveland Hill) was the first Hawk to cross the finish line and placed 25th out of 55 competitors. The Hawks score of 188 edged out La Roche College and Medaille College who finished ninth and tenth respectfully.
