Hawks Compete at UB Stampede Invitational

The Hilbert College men and women's cross country team participated in the UB Stampede Invitational on Saturday afternoon, at Beaver Island State Park.
On the men's side, sophomore Chris Spence (New York, NY) was top finisher for the Hawks with a time of 37:59, placing 65th overall. Sophomore Tillman Davis (Utica, NY) registered a time of 41:47, which placed him 70th. Senior Mark Smith (Palmerson North, New Zealand) posted a time of 46:26, good enough for 71st overall.
On the women's trails, junior Amanda Phillips (Cheektowaga, NY) was the top finisher for the Hawks, registering a time of 23:37 on the 5K course. Phillips' time placed her 52nd. Junior Amanda Trickey (Clifton Springs, NY) registered a time of 25:09, placing her 59th overall. Freshman Laura Wilson (Buffalo, NY) placed 61st overall, with a time of 26:18. Junior Jessica Tinker (Linwood, NY) posted a time of 29:18 and placed 63rd.
The Hawks return to the trails Sept. 27, at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College.
