HAMBURG, NY – Medaille College’s Tiffany Azzarito scored the only goal needed for the visiting Mavericks to beat the Hilbert College women’s soccer team 1-0 Tuesday afternoon. The loss drops the Hawks to 1-1 on the young season.
Azzarito’s first-half goal at the 14:28 mark came on a direct kick and helped the Mavericks improve their early season record to a perfect 3-0. Medaille keeper Lindsey Kennedy stopped seven shots on goal while Hilbert freshman goalie Kelly Goodwin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) turned away seven in a losing effort.
The Hawks return to action this Saturday at home against the Brockport State Golden Eagles. Start time is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
