BUFFALO, NY – The Medaille College women’s soccer team evened their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) record to 2-2 with a 1-0 overtime win over Hilbert College on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 3-7 on the year and 0-4 in AMCC play.
Hilbert keeper Kelly Goodwin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) held the Lady Maverick’s of Medaille scoreless through regulation. At 6:40 of overtime Medaille’s Leah Mazzullo ripped a shot off of the Hawks Lucy Zver (Jasper, NY/Jasper-Troupsburg) that trickled into the goal for the game winner.
The visiting Hawks controlled play most of the game, but could not capitalize off of nine corner kick attempts. Goodwin ended the afternoon turning away six Maverick shots in the losing effort.
The Hawks will look to regroup on Saturday, October 8 when they travel to AMCC foe Frostburg State for a 1:00 pm game.
