HAMBURG, NY- After a scoreless first half, the Hilbert College women’s soccer team netted a pair of unanswered goals 3:05 apart to capture a 2-0 win at home over Wells College. Keeper Kelly Goodwin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) turned in her second straight shutout and the Hawks peppered the visiting Express with a 20-4 advantage in shots.

Mage Fage (Delmar/Bethlehem) headed in a corner-kick from Tricia Knight (Sardinia, NY/Pioneer) seven minutes into the second half for the would-be game winner. Fage and Stacey Cox (Holland, NY/Holland) then assisted on a Knight insurance goal at 55:05 and the Hawks were soon en route to their second straight win.

Goodwin needed to make just one save on the afternoon, and her counterpart Wells (2-11) goalie Claire Peterson, turned in a strong 12-save performance in a losing effort.

The Hawks (4-10-1) will look to ride their recent two-game win streak into Wednesday’s conference match against Penn State Behrend. Four seniors will play in their last regular season home game when kick-off gets under way at 4:00 pm.
