Hawks Battle to Overtime

Pepper Pike, OH – The Hilbert College women’s soccer team battled Ursuline College
on the road Wednesday, September 8, but had to travel home with a 1-0 overtime loss. During the 90-minute regulation game, Ursuline held the advantage of shots on goal (8-3); Junior goalkeeper Mary Zinni (Batavia, NY/Batavia) kept the Hawks in the game with 8 saves forcing overtime.
Ursuline’s Hillary Crookston capitalized nine minutes into the first overtime on the first shot on net from either team. Her goal ended the sudden death overtime period and dropped the Hawks record to 1-3.
Hilbert opens their next home stretch of play this Saturday, September 11th against Clarkson and Sunday, September 12th against Chatham. Both games will kick off at 1 pm.
