Hilbert’s Stranc earns post-season honors

GIBSONIA, PA – Hilbert College softball player Laura Stranc (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) has been named a 2007 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Honorable Mention selection. The junior shortstop started all 31 games for the Hawks this past spring including eight on the mound where she went 2-5.
Stranc led the Hawks in at bats (87), hits (30), slugging percentage (.471), and her team best of three triples ranks fourth in the AMCC. Her five doubles tied for the team lead and her eight RBIs ranked her third. As a pitcher, the left-hander had a team best ERA of 8.29 and tossed 14 strikeouts in 51 innings of work.
The Hawks completed the 2007 season with a 4-28 record in the first year of the Kerry Levett-era and welcome back a scheduled 12 returners next spring.
