Parker takes home weekly AMCC softball honors

GIBSONIA, PA – Hilbert College softball player Rachel Parker (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Player of Week, for the week ending April 27th, 2008.
Parker went 16-32 (.500) in eight games last week, recording 10 RBIs, eight doubles and two home runs. Her bat was critical in two AMCC wins, a 15-10 decision over Frostburg State (4-5, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs) and a 9-6 victory over Penn State Altoona (3-4, 3 doubles, 2 runs scored). The sophomore second baseman is currently ranked in the top 10 in 7 AMCC hitting categories, including batting average (.424), slugging percentage (.661), runs scored (33), hits (50), RBIs (31), and doubles (17), where she also ranks eighth nationally.
The Hawks complete the 2008 season with an improved 9-27 record and a ninth place finish (3-15) in the AMCC.
