Myrtle Beach, SC – Junior Jill Martucci (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) blasted a two-run homerun and had 6 RBIs while Emily Ripley (Batavia, NY/Notre Dame Catholic) went 5 for 6 for the day with one home run, giving Hilbert College a split decision in softball March 15. The Hawks beat Becker College 11-1 in game two, but came up short in the 7-4 loss to Keystone.
Halsey Baker (Scio, NY/Scio) hit homerun number two for the season when she sent one over the fence against Becker matching yesterday’s long ball. Martucci pushed 6 runs across the plate while Devan Jonathan (Basom, NY/Akron) won the game on the mound, her first for the season.
In the morning game against Keystone, Ripley hit a solo home run, and Martucci followed it up with a two-run homerun. But beyond that, the Hawks couldn’t match the offensive output of the team from Pennsylvania and held on for a 3-run deficit.
