Hawks Blanked by Golden Knights

Hamburg, NY - The Hilbert women’s soccer team hosted the Clarkson Golden Knights on Sunday, September 11th and ended up losing 5-0 in their home opener. Golden Knights opened the scoring up in the 5th minute of game on a goal by Ariana Czech from Linde Zajac. Zajac linked with Sarah Andres in the 14th minute, and Czech repaid the favor to Zajac for a goal in the 54th minute. Hilary Mosher and Marissa Cook each had a breakaway from about 40 yards out and they both found the back of the net to finish the scoring for day. Clarkson outshot Hilbert 26-9. The Hawks junior midfielder Alyssa Hulbert (Tonawanda, NY/Tonawanda) (in photo to right) lead the team in shots (4) and junior goalkeeper Mary Zinni (Batavia, NY/Batavia)had 6 saves on the afternoon. Hilbert drops to 1-4 while Clarkson improves to 3-2.
The Hawks look forward to getting back on track September 12th when they host Chatham College at 1 pm on their annual Family Day event.
