Hamburg, NY – Christine Conrad scored seven of Franciscan University’s last eight points sealing the visitor’s first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory against Hilbert College (59-56) January 8. Hilbert’s Magan Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Bennett/ECC) led all scorers with 22 points, making one more foul shot than Conrad (21 points). The taller Barons (2-8, 1-4) out-rebounded the Hawks (51-38) and grabbed 30 offensive boards but finished the game shooting only 25% from the floor. Even though Hilbert (1-10, 0-5) went 18 for 32 from the foul line for the game, they made four in a row to end the game, but their comeback rally fell short. Hilbert’s Julie Bossard (Arkport, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) earned another double-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.
