HC Volleyball Team Tops SUNYIT

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women’s volleyball team beat visiting SUNYIT Saturday afternoon 3-1 (30-19, 30-15, 28-30, and 30-20) giving first year Hawks coach Shannon Steinwandel her first collegiate coaching win.  The Hawks stand at 1-1 on the young season.

 

Jamie O’Connor (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Nicholette Newton (Forestville, NY/Forestville) combined for 14 kills to lead the Hawks offense.  Lynn Workman (Newfane, NY/Newfane) recorded six aces and nine digs while teammate Amy Anderson (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) contributed five kills, five aces, 11 digs, and a pair of blocks.

 

The Hawks play their third straight home match at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 against D’Youville College.
