BUFFALO, N.Y.Medaille College earned a 3-0 (22-30, 20-30, 23-30) conference win over the visiting Hilbert College Hawks Wednesday night in NCAA Division III women’s volleyball. A late Hilbert rally in the third game fell short as first year coach Shannon Steinwandel’s Hawks drop to 1-6 overall, and 0-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Hilbert’s Amy Anderson (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) and Jamie O’Connor (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) combined for eight kills and 10 blocks while Nicholette Newton (Forestville, NY/Forestville) chipped in with four blocks and eight digs.

The Hawks travel to AMCC foe La Roche College Oct. 2 for a 1 p.m. match against the Redhawks.
