UPG Bobcats Down Hawks in Volleyball

HAMBURG, NY – Conference foe, University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg earned a 3-0 win over Hilbert College in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play on Saturday. The Bobcats (5-4, 1-0) took game one 30-15, game two 30-18, and completed the sweep with a 30-12 win in game three.

Hilbert’s Desire Miller (Cheektowaga, NY/West Seneca East) and Destyn Brown (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) recorded four kills apiece, and Laura Stranc (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) added nine assists to pace the Hawks.

“We faced an excellent defensive team today,” commented Hilbert head coach Tim Clauss. “Unfortunately we were not able to outlast them on long vollies.”

The Hawks (2-9-0-1) return to action on Wednesday, September 27th to face Penn State Behrend in a 7:00 pm match at the Hafner Recreation Center.
