HAMBURG, NY – In a battle of Buffalo, the Medaille Mavericks took a 3-0 match victory over Hilbert in AMCC league play October 16. The Mavs stormed to a 9-1 lead in the first set, were gifted 10 hitting errors in the second set by Hilbert, and held on in the final game to improve to 5-1 (10-12). Hilbert moved to 4-3 in league standings (14-8 overall).
Chelsea Reischuck finished with eight kills and five digs while Allegra Johnson and Devan Jonathan each were credited with seven digs apiece. Hilbert had a total of 22 kills, but their 25 hitting errors prevented them from claiming the match victory (25-14,26-24,25-20).
Prior to the start of the match, the coaches and team honored seniors Devan Jonathan (#13) and Rachel Kwiatkowski (#10) pictured above with their parents. Both Jonathan and Kwiatkowski have joined the all-time greats in the volleyball program, with both athletes breaking into the top 10 in several stastical categories.
The Hawks return to action October 20th when they host Wilkes at 1pm , in their last non-conference match of the season.
