HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College business administration major Stephanie Agone has been named the 2011 Collegiate Sales and Marketing Award winner by the Buffalo Niagara Sales and Marketing Executive organization. This marks the third time since 2009 a Hilbert student has been selected for this honor, which was presented to Agone at the BNSME Elite Sales and Marketing Awards program held March 5.

The Collegiate Sales and Marketing Award is presented to a college senior in the Buffalo-Niagara region who is considered an up-and-coming leader in the sales or marketing industry. Selection is based on established career plans; work or an internship in the sales or marketing industry; demonstrated sales or marketing success exceeding performance expectations; grade point average; and involvement and contributions to a professional trade organization or community/civic group.

Agone was recognized for her “standard of excellence. Whether it be academics, her internship or any other aspect of her life, Stephanie is a model person who discovers her potential by looking for new challenges. She will be a leader who will have an enduring impact on her profession and her community.”

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Hilbert in May, Agone served as an intern in Independent Health’s Human Resources Department. She was recently named an outstanding campus leader and will be included in the 2012 Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Agone is a senior in Hilbert’s Honors Program and active in the college’s Students In Free Enterprise organization.

A Boston resident, she is a graduate of Hamburg High School.
