Buffalo News/WKBW-TV: Volunteer Firefighter Earns Role in Statewide Campaign

A Buffalo News story profiles Hilbert College Class of 2012 graduate Jessie Roland- Bystrak, who is being featured in television commercials as part of a statewide advertising campaign for the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York in hopes of attracting new recruits. A WKBW-TV story also focuses on Roland-Brystrak’s involvement in the new commercial.The Hilbert leadership scholar and East Aurora volunteer firefighter received a bachelor’s degree in forensic science/crime scene investigation at the college’s commencement on May 12.
Hilbert College, located in suburban Hamburg, N.Y., south of Buffalo, is a private four-year college founded in 1957 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition. With nearly 1,100 students, Hilbert is a dynamic Western New York college that offers career-focused majors, including one of the top criminal justice programs in the region, and more than 50 minors and concentrations.
