Women's Cross Country Season Preview

As the women’s cross country season plays out, head coach Geoff Brunger and assistant Sue Devlin have relied on several runners each week to complement the women’s team.

Freshman Maia Linares will lead the squad through the fall season and into the AMCC race at the end of October. Linares comes from Lackawanna high school and is expected to do well her first year at the college level. Also returning from a year ago is junior Stephanie Smith who is battling knee injuries. She hopes to run a few races before the AMCC race which is scheduled for October 29 at Beaver Island State Park (Grand Island, NY).

Complementing the squad are Amber Bailey, Tiana Cheasman, Rachel Collier, Jenna Crans, Maria DelMonaco, Jaqueline Downey, Allison Hall, Elissa Hall, Kiara Hilario, Jenna Labuski, Sarah Lorusso, Sarah Schmidt, and Mary Zinni.

The Hawks host the Third Annual Meghan Memorial October 1 as well as their own Hilbert Invitational Thursday, October 20 before they pull together for the AMCC Championship race.
