"I am very excited that these three exceptional student-athletes have been recognized by the NSCAA for their academic achievements,” said James A. Ruggiero about this group of seniors. “All three are great examples of the type of individuals we have within our college and specifically our women's soccer program. With all three earning this honor as juniors and seniors it certainly is a great way for them to finish their careers."
To be nominated for consideration, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution and either be in their second year at the current school if a transfer student. In all, nearly 10,000 awards are presented by the NSCAA each year.
