About the Business Administration Program

Offering an integrated curriculum, Hilbert's bachelor-level business administration major prepares you with a firm foundation in accounting, finance, marketing, business law and planning. You will gain a solid foundation in computer-based technical skills, a broad liberal arts knowledge base, and an understanding of the world of economics, business and industry. You will become skilled in organization, motivation, teamwork, networking, leadership, and ethical decision making.

This outstanding program helps refine your analytical and problem solving abilities. With eight concentrations available, the Hilbert business major offers flexibility in choosing a specialty within the general field of business, like our new sport management concentration or the technology-based management information systems concentration.

The major's internship component will augment your classroom experience, providing an opportunity to integrate principles and concepts discovered in the classroom with the real business world. You will also get a chance to excel in your future career through membership in the Student Business and Accounting Association where you will receive peer support, mentoring and the opportunity for on-site learning visits to local businesses and organizations.

You can also strengthen your skills by joining the business department's highly successful Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team. As a member of this international organization, Hilbert SIFE has designed a variety of marketing and service-oriented projects. Business students have presented these projects at regional and national SIFE competitions, having been named 2003 regional champions and first runner up in one of 16 leagues from across the country. Go to SIFE to learn more.

To accommodate your needs, two-year degrees are also offered at Hilbert. The flexibility of the associate-level degree allows you to follow the general business administration program or one of the more specialized options in banking, business administration or management information systems. You'll gain a strong foundation in the business field and have the opportunity to continue your studies in a bachelor-level program.
