Part-Time Canadian Students

Canadian students are allowed to commute to attend classes part-time at U.S. colleges and universities near the U.S. border. The new Immigration and Naturalization Service rule permits part-time Canadian students to attend colleges located within 75 miles of the U.S. border, which includes Hilbert.

You are eligible under this ruling to attend Hilbert if you:

• Are a Canadian national who maintains a residence in Canada.
• Are matriculated in a course of study.
• Seek admission to the U.S. at a land border port of entry.
• Complete Form I-20 and obtain the appropriate visa, unless exempt.
