At Hilbert, leadership is more than just a catch phrase. In keeping with our mission to educate students from diverse backgrounds to become informed citizens committed to serving and strengthening their communities, Hilbert College provides a wealth of leadership development opportunities for our students. Internships, service-learning, conferences, courses, speakers, as well as clubs, events, and activities all contribute to the leadership experiences available.
Every student is exposed to leadership development in their time at Hilbert. Beginning with the Foundations Seminar (GS 101), students learn habits which will help them be successful in school and become more globally aware. In the sophomore year, Service Learning exposes students to projects and programs that impact the community. Junior Symposium continues the focus on global awareness from diverse perspectives, while in the senior year students can participate in seminars, internships, study abroad, or other capstone experiences. All these leadership opportunities are grounded in the Franciscan values of respect, integrity, vision, service, compassion, hope, joy, and peace.
